Ear Farm Holiday Party Tonight With Great Bands! // StereoactiveNYC DJs:

The Ear Farm crew has put together a great show at Spike Hill tonight for their holiday party, featuring a few of our favorite local artists. We’re really looking forward to seeing the recently reclusive Mancino (9pm) for the first time in well over a year in addition to the great Takka Takka (10pm) and Goes Cube (11pm). Also playing is Moser’s Gambit (8pm), who we’re not familiar with, but we’re looking forward to seeing for the first time.

We’ll be DJing throughout the night, and plan to play a mix heavy with favorites from the closing decade, as well as a few well-placed holiday jams.

Oh, and the show is totally FREE — and not only FREE, but those Ear Farm dudes are actually going to give you something for showing up.

We have a feeling tonight is going to be a memorable night, so thanks to Ear Farm for inviting us to be a part of it.

1. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca OK, who didn’t see this coming? Dirty Projectors suck, folks. They are offensive on too many levels to count. They go against everything rock music was ever supposed to be (as evidenced by their version of Damaged). Hell, they go against pretty much everything art was ever supposed to be. And I still maintain the band is unfeminist, though I know it’s only a matter of time before someone loses their shit at me for saying that. (Go ahead…) This band is the distillation of everything wrong with indie music today - the privilege and entitlement that dominates the Brooklyn music scene, the thinly masked 1950’s-esque conservatism and the complete, total lack of having any balls. This music is cowardly and unbearable. [MySpace]

Fantastic Mr Fox: Shot digitally using a Nikon D3, which offers a significantly higher resolution than even that of full High Definition. It was also shot at a frame rate of 12 frames per second, rather than the more fluid 24, so that viewers would notice the medium of stop-motion itself.

i am so excited for this film, january 2010 cannot get here sooner!

Mad, mad love for this movie.

So far, either this or Bad Lieutenenat: Port Of Call New Orleans is my favorite movie of the year.
